I am making the final tweaks to my new website, which will work as a marketplace for freelancers and clients to meet, post/bid on projects, etc. Do you have any good suggestions on how to bring users to my new website and encourage them to register?

Post your website in Your Question. A lot of traffic comes through yahoo answers. You won't get a lot but you will receive a few clicks. http://www.Youtube.com Create a few vids about what you do and post them there. It's Free. :) Hope this helps a lil. OH! Try to find a few forums that are related to your site and join up. Add your web address to your forum signature. Then just answer a lot of questions. :) Take care!

The use of "good keywords" on your site will help the site rankings in Google, that is list your site higher in the listings. I now use software to to check for targeted keywords that have little competition and have a lot of searches, and use them in both meta and content.
