Insecure about My New Job; Feeling Nervous about Leaving My Freelance Position; Need Help with Coping?
I'm jealous of "my friend" who is taking my old job. One of her family members works at the company where I used to work at full-time (I'm now doing freelance work for them) This means I need to give up my freelance position so she can work there FT. This is happening is because I needed to ask my old boss for a reference for a new job, which I was offered, thankfully. But I was able to work both jobs I know it seems ridiculous that this should bother me, but I just feel like she didn't work as hard as I did to get a job & finish school to have qualified for it in the first place to get it; a family member got her that position. She's also will be getting great experience. The job is better than when I was there too. There are more young people & smart, cute guys (neither of us have a bf). She's slimmer & prettier than I am, has long hair, & healthy. I'm not as attractive nor healthy, have a big scar & the comparison just makes me from feeling good about myself. How should I cope?

These are very negative emotions and will hurt you. Count your blessings that you are a healthy person and start liking yourself. Hi, I have made an invoice for a freelance web design job, can you please tell me if it is missing anything?
Hi, I recently finished a web design job and needed to make an invoice for the work. I haven't made one before and I am just wondering if there is anything missing from it. The only thing I would change is Payment Terms: Net 30. That is the more common style in business

If you have done some freelance work for somebody and the job is complete..?
Can you use that material in your portfolio to show other clients ?? thanks i'm actually into sound and music..but i thought the same concept would apply to photography

Yeah, unless you sign over the rights to the client.

It's always best to get a release from the client, just so you can tell the next potential client that's how you do it. Some clients might not want their photos being seen by others. Draw up a promotional use only release. If you sign over all rights, you couldn't. If it's a job situation, it would be the same, the employer owns the work.

Depends on the laqws where you are. Here in Canada, when you take a picture, the copyright stays with you UNLESS you are doing it for a CLIENT. Then the CLIENT retains the copyright (you still have some moral rights). That's why my contracts clearly state that i retain the copyright. But like I said, it depends on where you are and since you haven't mentioned it.

Yeah you can use it in your portfolio, but it's alwayz nice to tell the clients that you are considering using the material in your portfolio and take their opinion on it, if they don't want you to, you should respect their wishes.
