How do I get a job in Iraq as a freelance photojournalist

How do I get a job in Iraq as a freelance photojournalist?
I've been wondering what would be the best way to get a job as a photojournalist in Iraq or Afghanistan. I am a photographer with decent writing skills and am ex-military. I can do the job well, I just need to find the quickest way to get there.

Send you CV's to all the leading companies.. u can specify your specialization and interest on it. Dont forget to write a cover letter which tells what excatly your philosophy about you theme. Lastly, the slides of your previous work's porfolio. Many need your kind of an adventrous person, thou there isnt any specific designation for this work.. but i believe its needed... some might call u soon.

There is a big demand in Iraq for almost any profession and trade, the problem is you may never come back, same in Afghanistan, dangerous places..รข

I understand there is a job market for freelance business writing or writing for companies; how do I break in

I understand there is a job market for freelance business writing or writing for companies; how do I break in?

I would like to work from home. I understand there may be work writing brochures, copy for websites, and sales letters. I have no experience writing advertising copy. Should I check out some on-line courses for business writing? I understand Harvard has such a course. I am already a solid writer. Do I need any of these classes, which may be unnecessarily expensive.

It's hard to tell if you need them or not because the only example of your writing is the question you posted. Freelancing is a tough act - you have to build a reputation before people seek you out. It's like the old conundrum of needing experience to get a job, but needing a job to get experience. You can try targeting a company - write a promotional brochure and present it to them. They may reject you out of hand. They may have staff writers. Or they may say they'll keep your name on file. If you go for a course in business writing, check to make sure they don't just hand you your diploma with a smile and a handshake and leave you on your own to find work. If you are already a solid writer (you don't say in which field) you may be able to build on that and use that expertise. When you contact companies with your draft proposal, list your previous publications as well. good luck

How should I list freelance jobs on my resume

How should I list freelance jobs on my resume?
I have a full-time job and two free-lance jobs as follows: 1) Job 1-- full-time job 2) Job 2-- freelancer; previously I worked in their office for 2 years (part-time then full-time) 3) Job 3- solely freelance How should I list it on my resume? Should I put consultant? How do I address Job 2 where I was both an in-office worker and a freelance worker? For Job 2, should I list my title as 2003- current (includes both freelance and in-office)? Or, TITLE 2003-2005; Freelance TITLE 2005- Present?

Basically as you have stated it here in your question.
2 :
I don't think you have a problem, just list it as is. We are all used to using freelancers and consultants, so it is only fair that you get to list that in your resume.
3 :
I would list yourself as a consultant instead of freelancer (it sounds more professional). For Job 3, list the types of businesses you consulted for (even list their names, if appropriate) and a "Top 3" list of responsibilities. Focus on your biggest or most successful projects. For Job 2, I would first list your title as consultant and put the timeframe that you worked part-time for that company. Then list a separate title with whatever your title was for that company and put the timeframe that you worked full-time. Treat these as two separate jobs. For example, it could look like this: Consultant, Job 2 (January 2003-December 2004) - Provided strategic planning recommendations to the president of research - Traveled to more than 35 locations across the U.S. to survey franchise managers on operational procedures; developed results report and presented to board of directors Manager of Research and Development, Job 2 (January 2005-February 2006) - Put whatever you did here and so on... Hope this helps!
4 :
Personally, I would list it under experience or skills, such as in a functional resume. Check with your local One Stop (formerly Unemployment Office) and they can help you there. Good Luck!!
5 :
It is better to get our resume written by professionals as it would boost our chances of employment. Try the links in http://www.thequickinfo.com/resume/ and try for resume writing by professionals.

Hold a 9-5 job and freelance as makeup artist

Hold a 9-5 job and freelance as makeup artist?

Is it possible to freelance as a makeup artist and hold a 9-5 job in an unrelated industry? Has anyone or is anyone currently doing this? Also, to become a "certified" makeup artist (that gets you a discount on supplies at MAC), do you need to take a test or just attend a program at a certified school. Thanks.

what you are sayingis possible, just attend the program
2 :
To get the MAC discount you have to prove that you are a makeup artist. If you want to be a MAC makeup artist, they can train you and you get the discount (yay). To be a certified makeup artist you have to complete a certain amount of hours at a makeup or cosmetology school. You can be training to be a makeup artist and get the discount, too. http://www.macpro.com/index.tmpl?ngextredir=1 Hope that helps!!!! Good luck!!!!

I have looked and never found a real data entry job online (at least one that didn't want me to pay them upfront which is the first sign of a scam). I suggest if you are really interested in this type of work you talk to an IT recruiter in your area, if there are real jobs like that in your area they would know. I got a part time job updating web pages for a local natural foods store, you could try looking for a place like that that needs help with stuff.
2 :
have you tried a temp agency? I've always had luck with them.
3 :
i've tried in the past, but found nothing but scams
4 :
There are many data entry jobs online. But most of them are scams..You can try alternative jobs online like paid per click programs..try this link.. http://www.ppclix.com/register.r-jordq7.html
