I have years of technical,admin, sales and customer service exp.including supervisory skills. I have superb skills relating to the internet and research and also exemplary follow up skills. I am the perfect combination of skills, hardwork and determination. I am willing to complete a period of free internship with the employer in order for them to assess my skills. Is it possible I could find such a post, working remotely.

There are so many jobs out there for virtual assistants/freelancers. This page has lots of avenues to pursue... I am a virtual assistant myself and I specialize in secretarial and transcription work, but VAs specialize in a myriad of different areas. All or most of their work is done out of their home offices.

You don't have to work for free to get a job as a Virtual Assistant! That's only ONE of the freelance jobs I have and I have never, ever worked for free. Money flows TO the freelancers, never away from! And never 'not at all'.
