Where are there steady freelance writing jobs from home

Where are there steady freelance writing jobs from home?
I'm looking for information on how to procure either a full-time or a part-time writing job from home. I have the writing credentials, I simply do not have resources to find these jobs online.

There is a website called guru.com that connects writers with paying jobs. You can also search craigslist.

Good freaking luck. I am in the same boat and still struggling to achieve steady freelance work. The most you can do is get a Web site created showcasing your work, clients, testimonies, and services and then advertise on Craigslist or anywhere else you can for free. This has been my method along with answering various ads. Unfortunately writers are not in high demand right now and employers who are hiring writers usually will not pay well.

i have a freelance blog. You will find usefull information there about job sites and how to get the job. http://www.freelancer-online.com/

Hi. I'm also a freelance writer, and I get almost all of my work through oDesk. There are all types of jobs being outsourced by companies or individuals, such as blog writing, content for websites, technical writing, etc. What I like best about oDesk (in comparison to other outsourcing sites) is that it's free to sign up and apply for work. They also have free certifications and tests that you can take to make your profile more marketable. Feel free to contact me directly if I can answer any questions for you. Best of luck

How do I become a Freelance Programmer/Developer

How do I become a Freelance Programmer/Developer?
I need an extra income and I was wondering if I can maybe try this freelance programming job. I've been an Oracle developer for more than 4 years now. Do you know which sites are credible enough to gain me a prospective client or maybe work with a team? Thanks for all your help!

Well go to this page on the site below and go to the heading of 'work at home job boards'. I have four listed there. They are legitimate job boards that have freelance jobs as you describe. They are not the bidding type freelance websites where you have to bid for a job. You may as well check out the rest of the site as it is for independent contractors/virtual assistants and it will be relevant to you as well.

This is actually a very nice question. I was also wondering the same thing. One nice freelancing site that i have found and used it www.odesk.com. The only problem is that you will find plenty of website designing jobs and etc but almost nothing related to Oracle database administration or development. If you do come up with something though, please pass it to me through email. I have just finished my Oracle 10g DBA and Oracle 9i Developer track certifications and I am having a hard time finding a job. I was thinking of maybe getting a freelance job online related to my qualifications. Any help would be appreciated.

Hope these job websites can help you. http://hotjobs.yahoo.com http://www.craigslist.org http://www.usejob.com

What do you call this job? (FREELANCE)?
Ok, so basically my job is to promote their face book fan page and their website? Is this SEO? or Promoter?

Well if this is your business and you find clients to do this for then you would be called an SEO. If someone pays you to promote for them and tells you what to do, then you would be called a virtual assistant

How can I find freelance writing jobs?

How can I find freelance writing jobs?
I've done a search and all these websites come up but I don't know which of them are real or not. Does anyone know some specific websites where I can find freelance writing jobs?

Freelance marketplace websites like Elance and Guru give you the opportunity to bid for jobs placed by clients. You first have to register with the site and establish an online profile including your resume and some writing clips. Craigslist has a "gigs" section that lists freelance jobs.
2 :
There are many types of freelance writing jobs available online. A lot of these are just scams, but there are some that genuinely pay for written content. Generally, freelance writing jobs can be broken down into the following: (1) Bidding sites like Elance, Odesk, LimeExchange and Freelancer where you place bid on posted projects. Prices for writing jobs vary, some are as low as $0.25/100 words while some pay a handsome $200/100 words. You have to build your credentials and portfolio on these sites to be able to get the more rewarding jobs. (2) Residual content submission sites like Triond and Helium that pay writers part of the ad revenues generate by their written content. You get just pennies here, like $1-$5 per 1,000 page views, but if you have good SEO sense and can write 10 articles (*gasp*) a day you can make good money here

How would I post that I'm doing freelance translations

How would I post that I'm doing freelance translations?
I'm wishing to do small freelance translation jobs and was confused on about how I would go about doing this. I have been to multiple websites but I have only been able to post a job for other translators to work on, not find one for myself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried elance.com?
2 :
try elance.com and getafreelance.com, these sites have proven their authority for few years and have got a very trusted system for ease on both employers and service providers. they also give you feedback and reviews for all the completed projects, thereby giving you more chance to win bids among other bidders in your area of specialty

Can somebody explain a little about freelance

Can somebody explain a little about freelance?
Hi there! I'm looking for a freelance job, and I have 3 questions: Where is the best place to look for a job? What is bidding about? And do you have to pay to get a job? So is it best to make a low bid? :)

as a freelance person, you get to choose where to participate - ie bid on advertised jobs, call on businesses that may need your service, or just send out fliers/print ads..so the best place to find work is where the work is, and how they find people - this would be part of your business plan....how to market and sell your service - doesn't need to be complicated, just make some bullet points on paper to organize your thoughts - can you join a trade group? Bidding is done in larger companies, or public projects. I have a friend that bids on public art projects - there are multiple stages - an introductory meetings, usually a follow-up with questions and answers, then the bid meeting - you present your solution (or artwork, or project plan) and a price. the plan/price is evaluated - even if you have the low price, they can say your solution does not meet the need, and disqualify you. this is not the end of the world!!!!! if you are good, you'll only win 1 in 10...but once you do a couple, they aren't so much work, because you'll have lots of material. you usually don't need to pay to get a job, unless it is some sort of kick-back, or pay-to-play. unless you like working with less than honest businesses, and have the stomach to deal with the other aspects, best to avoid it. Most likely, the things you are looking at on the internet are schemes that you buy in, then get people to buy-in under you - they collapse quickly. best of luck.

Chk out this site for details www.freewebs.com/onlinegenuinejobs Uma.

There are many freelancing websites online besides the ones I am listing below. The only one below that I have experience in using is guru.com Elance- http://www.elance.com/p/providers/index.html Freelance Job Search- http://www.freelancejobsearch.com/ HotGigs- http://www.hotgigs.com/ HitFreelance- http://www.hitfreelance.com/ Freelance Work- http://www.freelance-work.net/#freelanceprojects Freelance Central- http://www.freelancecentral.net/ Go Freelance- http://www.gofreelance.com/ Guru- http://www.guru.com GetaFreelancer http://getafreelancer.com/ *Sometimes you can also find ads online on job websites for companies looking for freelancers as well. Bidding- on these sites you will have to bid for a job. You bid an amount for how much you are willing to do this project or job for. Usually the job description will tell you if a job is short-term or long-term. Sometimes in the description you may also get idea how much someone or a company is willing to pay you for the job. You might be bidding for how much you are willing to do the work on an hourly basis or it can be an amount for the whole project. Do you have to pay- I am sure how the other freelance websites work but this is what I know about guru :if they still offer the free basic membership, then I suggest signing up for this first. You will only be allowed to bid on 10 jobs/projects monthly but this will give you idea if you should pay to upgrade your account. Guru makes their money by acting as the middle man between you and the company for payment transactions. I recommend first trying the free membership because I know many people who have submitted bids and never received offers....for me my experience was different. You didn't ask for this information but feel that this important to add- when bidding on jobs you will have to submit a proposal. Make you sure write a proposal that will stick out

Are there any freelance business jobs? What is the highest paid freelance job

Are there any freelance business jobs? What is the highest paid freelance job...?
I am in school studying business/finance, psychology, and graphic design. I am interested in all 3. Is it worth it to go all the way with the Business Bachelors instead of minoring, considering the fact that I am not the type of person who would want to work a 9-5 job?? Business is interesting to me and I want to make $$$ but I am just not into BS/office politics/ and structure like that...... Am I wasting my time majoring in it? I know.. I could start my own business. But.. I don't know what.

Personally I would take the Business Bachelors. It really depends on what you likw doing. Why not try freelance work to see if you like the business/finance work? You can also freelance as a graphic designer to see what it is like. Try sites like http://www.ifreelance.com and http://www.freelancebuddy.com to get an idea of what work is out there and how to pursue a freelancing career.

How do you Get Freelance Food Photography Jobs

How do you Get Freelance Food Photography Jobs?
I do work as a Crime Scene Photographer. My wife owns a restaurant. I also take all the photos of her food for Menus and Print ads. I would like to find a way to do some additional photos for other restaurants but do not want to do it for ones in my town as they are my wifeĆ¢€™s competition. I have done searches for freelance photo jobs but the results are all to web sites that require a membership fee. Any ideas?

Don't ever sign up for the 'membership fee' things. Having said that, getting into freelance photography on food photography is terribly difficult -- start a studio, and the local restaurants will come to you. The main problem is that restaurants need food photography incredibly rarely. My best suggestion would be to read some blogs on food photography, take some hot photos, and start promoting yourself by sending out postcards with your photos on them to restaurants. Follow up with phone calls, and make sure they keep your postcards. Hopefully, when they finally need photos doing, they'll remember you, and get in touch.

Sorry, don't really have an answer, but I'm extremely curious as to what I could do to become a Crime Scene Photographer; do you get paid well/ is it a steady income? If you wouldn't mind enlightening me; you should be able to click on my name, then send me an email. Much Appreciated.
