Is it possible to freelance as a makeup artist and hold a 9-5 job in an unrelated industry? Has anyone or is anyone currently doing this? Also, to become a "certified" makeup artist (that gets you a discount on supplies at MAC), do you need to take a test or just attend a program at a certified school. Thanks.

To get the MAC discount you have to prove that you are a makeup artist. If you want to be a MAC makeup artist, they can train you and you get the discount (yay). To be a certified makeup artist you have to complete a certain amount of hours at a makeup or cosmetology school.
