At my local communitty college they offer a certificate in web programming and design. I have fundamental computer skills, and was wondering if this certificate will be good enough to land a good job in web design, or at least give me the knowlege to freelance? Here is a link to the certificate cirriculum. Thanks so much! http://www.vhcc.edu/index.aspx?page=264

Because you're interested in web design, check if the curriculum includes website design principles, graphics design and optimization for the web, web content writing, and software like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. The knowledge of HTML, DHTML, and CSS also helps in your design work. If you decide to take the freelance route, focus on marketing, as it is a main component of success.
