can software engineers freelance and work for a company


can software engineers freelance and work for a company?
like can i become a software engineer with a BSCS and work for a company like a normal full time job for like 90,000$ a year or whatever than freelance on my own time for like more money on other projects? or do i need alot of time to freelance?

It all depend on your employment contract. Some may tie you in to that company.

You could do some freelance work on Virtual Workers website - http://vworker.org/ It used to be called RentACoder and people post up projects they need get coded and every post up how much they will do it for and in my time. The the seller chooses someone to do the work for them.

I work for a large US software company. When I joined I listed a number of personal projects I wanted to work on outside of the company, a moonlighting clause. In addition our company's policy is that employees are allowed to work on projects of their own provided they do it in their own time without using the company's hardware or software and without compromising the company's IP
