Can she work another job when on maternity leave?
Currently my wife is about to go out on maternity from her main job (3-4 months). She also works for herself doing freelance work. Question is can she still do her freelance work during her paid maternity leave from her main job? Yes, she has been freelancing for as long as she has been employed there. We were just concerned if the employer makes her file short disabilty, could she then still do her freelance work when getting paid from the STD.

If her job contract permits her to work freelance, and she was already doing so, then yes, she can continue to work freelance. If she works for Federal government, she needs to talk to her HR dept first. They are quite restrictive about 2nd jobs. Some states are as well
