How does a beginner find jobs as a freelance copy-editor?
I am one semester away from my B.A in English Literature, and am currently employed as a Writing Tutor by the english department. How can I start finding freelance work as a copy-editor?

Try to get an Internship at a local newspaper.

Try posting an add on Craig'slist stating that your copy-writing skills are available. If you don't have any hits, check the site off and on to see if new posts come up.

If you're hoping to find work online, you should check out EditFast. You can register for free. I did several projects for them a couple of years ago. Also you should check out Guru - but only when you can afford the lowest level paid membership. (The free one's not very effective.) You may find this other site helpful, too - and it's got a free report that's excellent
