Write a novel, or if you wanna make money, write a children's book, but that is better left to parents who have dealt with it. Here is something https://www.scripps.apply2jobs.com/ProfExt/index.cfm?fuseaction=mExternal.showJob&RID=1966&CurrentPage=13 --Writing broadcast news including VOs and VOSOTs --Writing and posting stories to the web Those are just a few of the jobs included in the internship. You talking about something like that? The only thing is that you need to be in college to get most internships. Which is why I said to write a novel. I was given the opportunity to go to Germany to learn baking on an apprenticeship deal, but I failed to have the high school diploma, and the waiting list to enroll into a single class at my area school for culinary arts was (is) two years, so I had to pass that up. Start looking now if writing is what you wanna do, cause others also want the same thing, and that diploma is key, but putting in requests now at 16, looks really good on your resume.

Take out some magazine subscriptions that have short stories in them. Look for some that match your genre. Write short stories and submit them. You'll most likely get a ton of rejection letters (all writers do), but you'll get a ton of experience doing it and may finally get something accepted.

You can try www.Elance.com. It's a great online jobsite where companies and freelancers (freelance writers included) meet to work. It's free to open an Elance account, though you may need a parent's permission and active involvement since you're under the age of 18. Some tips for you: (1) Look for creative writing and children's books projects to start with. (2) Be professional -- stick to your agreed fees, deadlines, and deliverables. (3) Have fun! For more information about starting a writing career on Elance, see this article I wrote: http://wp.me/p18prf-2H Feel free to sign up to my blog -- I help new freelance writers like you get your writing careers going! Hope I helped, ~Mike
